ODISHA was known as UTKAL, the word Utkal consists two words are Utkrishta + Kala it means Excellent Arts. Odisha in known as The Art Kingdom. In today time one can see the Art & Artists every part of Odisha. Raghurajpur is one of the greatest examples, the famous Pattachitra, Gotipua Dance, Tussar Painting, Palm Leaf Engraving, Stone Carving and also Wood Carving belongs to this village. Odissi Guru Kelucharan Mahapatra is also belongs from this Village. On 2000 Raghurajpur was declared as the first Heritage Village of Orissa. Pipili is also another example of Excellent Art of Odisha, the Appliqué work handicrafts are famous in worldwide. Sambalpuri sarees are famous among all elite people, It is also called Ikkat sari. This sarees became famous outside Odisha when our late Prime Minister started wearing during 1980s. The Odissi dance is one of the oldest classical dance forms of India. Now this dance has spreaded all over world.

By area wise Odisha is the ninth largest state, by population wise it is eleventh largest. Odia is the official spoken language, even Hindi, Bengali & Telgu also widely spoken. Orissa is a Mineral rich state, it contains a fifth of India's coal, a quarter of its iron ore, a third of its bauxite reserves and most of the chromites. Gahirmatha is the world’s largest rookery of Olive Ridley Sea Turtles. The amazing beach of Chandipur where water recedes 5kms during ebb tide twice in a day, Konark sun Temple is one of the seven wonders and world heritage site. After all the Lord of Universe resides in Odisha itself, the local people call him the BADA THAKURA means the Largest Lord, the temple called BADA DEULA means the Largest Temple, the road called BADA DANDA means the Grand Road, the offering called MAHA PRASAD means the food is so tasty one can’t imagine, the head priest called BADA PANDA means Senior most Priest.
